Frequently asked questions

Answers for installers, EPCs, and contractors working with our design and permitting team.

Working with Solar Journey

Solar installers, EPC companies, and contractors. We work as your design and permitting partner behind the scenes — not directly with the system owner.

Service area details are being finalized. Contact us with your project location and we’ll confirm coverage.

Submit a design request with your company, contact, and project details. We’ll follow up to confirm scope.

Design & Engineering

Project address, roof/site type, and selected module and inverter equipment at minimum. See Solar Design Services for the full list.

Yes — see the residential and commercial sections on the Solar Design Services page.

Permitting

Timelines depend on your specific AHJ’s review process and current workload, which is outside our control. We’ll communicate expected timelines and status updates once a project is submitted.

No — approval is decided by your local AHJ. We prepare a complete, jurisdiction-matched package and respond to correction requests to support approval.

We collect HOA information during intake and can include HOA-required documentation where applicable; HOA approval is a separate process from AHJ permitting.

Labels, Placards & Deliverables

Yes, as part of a complete permit package — see Solar Labels & Placards.

Deliverable formats are confirmed per project during intake — mention any specific format requirements in the special notes field of your design request.
